6 classes in basketball

Why not do 6 classes which could make smaller districts, thus less travel. Games could even be played on Friday if necessary with fewer district games. Then only have two teams come out of the district. 4 teams from each class make the state tournament so you still have 24 teams there. If the TSSAA isn't competent enough to make more classes work, then changes need to be made with them....

Allow a 30 second shot clock. Keeps the game competetive and keeps teamd from holding the ball for 2 minutes at a time just to keep the other team from scoring. Forces more action.

Well things will stay as they are in hoops. 7-5 to remain at three classes. I'm happy but at the same time would like to have seen something new.

Looks like, using the old enrollments, cutoffs will be around 535 and 1050. New charters take the place of some of the privates likely going Division II.

They could have gone to 4 classes, at least on a two-year trial. Roughly 320 teams, so 80 in a class, five in a district. District tournament seemed to be important for many, so keep it. Four teams to region as is now the case. 16 to sectionals, 8 to state. If MTSU can't hold all the games by Saturday evening play the first round at Oakland, Blackman, Riverdale, Stewart's Creek.

TSSAA didn't even attempt to make out a rough plan of what each region would look like. So obviously they had no plans to change.

TITLE IX would fix it. Football is the cash cow and everyone knows it. Let basketball suffer, Who cares if the football team has a 2 hour drive to play. ITS ON FRIDAY NIGHT. Basketball has to travel through the week. So lets do whatever we can to take care of the FOOTBALL team. SMH!!!

No need talking about what should have happened. We all know that. We must go after the board members and the joke of an association we have (TSSAA)! Here are the BOC members that opposed the majority and didn't have enough backbone to stand up to the TSSAA office recommendation! Here were the votes for 3 classes:

I wish a lot of schools would get together and consider something like this. Basketball in a rural four class group. It would take out a lot of problems. It's very roughly done and some schools are more "rural" than others. Basically took out Memphis, Hamilton County, Nashville-Brentwood, Jackson, etc schools but it could be done better probably. Didn't use 3 classes because it spreads out size of schools so much. AAAA has some larger schools at the top but for the most part it would be 900-1500 more or less.
