If the two teams are playing each other that's fine but to go out of your way to go talk to a kid when your two teams are not playing each other is just wrong yes if all they said was good job but when a school and Community has Made It Clear they want the kid to change schools I said it in other post if a kid and family wants to go that's fine but leeve the kid out of it and let the family make there own choice

It's ABSOLUTELY within the rules for this man to congratulate a player on their performance / game, as stated. Your allegation that it's a rules violation is jumping the gun, as you nor I know anything more than the man congratulated the player. The (implied) man in question has impeccable character and a great reputation in the coaching community. I've known him many years and he would never put his PUBLIC school in jeopardy of a violation. Before you jump to a conclusive judgement on a situation you don't have all the facts about, might need more info.

Wow, we actually agreed there pride lol. How ya been?

Just some helpful  advice OLDSCHOOL44 the TSSAA will not do anything I have been around Wartburg sports for many years Wartburg had Coalfield dead to rights one time and Mr. Childress said well it  looks like you are correct but we fill there’s not enough information to really prove it bottom line the TSSAA does not care about small schools I know it is very aggravating I have seen it many times  over the last 7 or 8 years parents  take off and go to coalfield in youth club I don’t like it but it is what it is I for one believe you should stay in your own  committee What is it teaching are kids if we tuck are tails and run every time something don’t go are way this will be what they learn as adults just my 2 cents It was said to be a Great  champion you first must learn to loose I also believe if people would not hide be hide screen names there would be less trash talk on these types of board's (RANDY SPANKY  SWINT)

No dog in this fight... But a couple things... Seems like old dog's definition of recruiting is anytime anyone says anything to anyone form WB, it's recruiting if they're from CF. Also, ultimately if a school's program is really bad...a number of kids in the school won't play that would have helped and a few kids from that school will seek out better programs in the area, whether someone talks nice to them or not. That's just the way it is in any HS sport. WB is historically not very good in FB... So, a % of kids aren't going to play and a few will leave for a better place. For example, WB doesn't lose many hoops players because they're usually a solid, well-coached team/program.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
