WCHS Football game reinstated

 

The White County High School football game scheduled for Friday night, that was prematurely reported as being cancelled, has been reinstated. The administration said there was no way in h*ll the school could pass up the thousands of dollars in ticket sales that would be generated by Eagle Nation, which travels in droves. The principal said "We were just kidding. My bad."

 

"Besides, what would we do with all the extra hot dogs and nachos we bought?" said a concession stand worker who asked to remain anonymous.

 

The Region 4-5A game against Rhea County will kick off at 7 p.m. at Warrior Stadium.

 

The game was suspended earlier this week for about one hour until the school bookkeeper met with school officials.

 

"We can't let disciplining our players stand in the way of a Friday night windfall," she was overheard saying.

 

White County Director of schools, Kurt Dronebarger, issued the following statement, “The White County School District takes pride in providing a safe learning environment but we need this dough. I have decided to reinstate the football game as scheduled for this Friday night (9/2/16). We have seen tremendous growth this week and hope that students see you can get away with ANYTHING when it comes to football. Our refs are a great example of this.

 

"Moving forward, this school district will continue to take the steps necessary to make sure Friday night football is protected and our gate fees are deposited each Monday morning."
