I've been to Halls for football games several times over the years and I must say, that it's my favorite place to go on the road. A lot of they're Fans sit on the visitors side and they were a class act and what a great environment to watch a game.  JC is much better than what I gave them credit for. The only other time I've seen them was against Humboldt in a scrimmage and I wasn't that impressed. But then again, I didn't stay for all of it.  Yes Buehler is a pretty good QB, but the main reason the game went the way it did was due to JC Offensive line. They had there way with Halls all night. They're very young to, and I believe they all return next year. The Defense did a great job of not allowing the speed of Halls to get behind them. # 21 for Halls is one of the fastest High school players I've ever seen. You do not want to kick the ball his way, and he's not the only one, Halls is loaded with speed.  Pretty much all JC did was run up the middle and throw quick passes to the side line gaining 3 to 8 yards a play most times. Time of possession was a killer for Halls as JC just eat the clock up, especially in the 2nd half. Late in the game, a couple of the Halls players got a little frustrated and took two cheap shots at of QB which resulted in personal fouls for them and cost them field potion. Now, I don't mean to stick my nose in another teams business but I have to agree with a couple of the Halls posters because I don't understand why the Coaching staff there doesn't find a way to get the ball in the hands of #21 more often, that young man is special! I'll probably take a lot of heat for this from the Halls Fans, but I was not to impressed with there coaching. However, for the rest of the teams in our region, be careful with the Halls Tigers they have a lot of talent and potential.  Good luck to Halls the rest of the way and Thanks for being such gracious host. Fayette Academy could learn a lot from y'all.

Halls has always had athletes. FOR YEARS!!! The problem has been coaching. For some reason there has always been a inner circle that they hire from. I don't know the present coach, but there hasn't been many hires from the outside. The program has been held back because of it. Well that and that many really good athletes from Halls have ended up in Dyersburg, Dyer co, and now the privates of Jackson. Simply because parents that were in the Halls system saw first hand that kids had better opportunities in other places.

Really think football players from Halls will travel to Jackson just to play football at a private school?

BIgEdMo and I have been saying look out for Halls and I still say that. I agree they have athletes! Now I think we should be saying look out for JC! Would not surprise me if they took USJ to the wire. Looks like JC is in the drivers seat for 3rd in the region and maybe better. Hope they get a big W this Friday!

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
