School board meeting are humorous. That's why I keep GCTV, so I can watch it. One got voted off that got a lot a bit upset over anything, so I'm not sure if they will still be as funny.

 

I agree completely with parents should be holding their child accountable, but some of these young men aren't as fortunate to have a stable home. That is where coaches do come into play and if things go wrong they turn in the incident and not cover it up. I've gone to the former principal & told him what my nephew said about an incident and was told to mind my own business. Maybe the new principal will not allow the field house wrongdoings to continue.

I'm hoping we can get this W, but I say Upperman by at least 2 TDs.

 

Grundy has potential to be very productive on the football field. Too many chiefs not enough Indians. Have you ever been to school board meeting there? It's hilarious.. I know people who would rather watch those meetings on GCTV than watch a national championship game.. smh

What wrong doings are you referring to? The incident last year was investigated by authorities. I think they would have acted if criminal activity had taken place.

I'm not going to put them all on this board. All of the things I have heard are from players, but they are not allowed to talk about it. It's just sad that these things go on and kids are scared to talk. I just hope nothing happens to my nephew before he can get out.

I don't believe that coach Tate or anybody on the staff would prevent a player from reporting anything..maybe it could be players intimidating other players not to tell which could be quite possible..I hope that that doesn't happen but I'd say it prolly does..as for the reference to the joke of a school board member that had hard feelings bout being removed I'm quite happy with his replacement..I just hope that his replacement and the ones that to got on the board will be able to fix this mess on the mountain..

Amen! I believe the new members will be in it for the kids. They were our only hope for education to get turned around.

Rumor has it that the new members are after all the coaches except the golf program because no one is getting the job done in the win-loss column. Something needs to change for us to be competitive.

Coach Tate will for sure get one more year that's just what I heard from a school board member say himself..being that it's just the girls basketball coaches second year id say he would prolly get another year as well..coach burner just took over the boys basketball team and is starting from scratch but has a ton of talent..only problem is first 4 games are vs 3A basketball teams and out of the first 10 games he really only has maybe 1 or 2 W's..so next year after a schedule change I'd look for him to win a good amount of em..baseball I have no clue and cross country I have no clue

Yes they will get this current year. This is probably what was considered another year. Being a 3A school that Grundy is you have to be able to play with these schools not just in basketball but in any sport. Cross Country sent a runner to the state tournament last year while baseball and softball didn't even get out of the district---Which is across the board in Grundy Athletics. It's sad that the administration and board put friends and people in these positions that can't seem to get the jobs done. If the system would quit wasting money on other things and put it towards a proven coach maybe there would be a difference.
