So nobody outside of Whitehaven is picking us to win... Ntristang

Ain't no good football played in Memphis. We aint nothing but a bunch of beefed up wanna be basketball players that just roll the ball out there and play sandlot ball. You'd be crazy to pick a Memphis school to beat a big, bad Rutherford Co. team even though they aint won not ONE 6A title  :popcorneater:

Well, I hope our coaches don't get out-coached and are made to look like buffoons. I hope our athletes don't get shown up too bad by their bigger, better, faster, smarter, more dominant athletes. Let's pray Whitehaven can keep it close and respectable and not get dominated too badly. Let's pray and hope our defense doesn't get run over by the big bad Oakland offense. Let's pray that our lil' ole' offense doesn't get shut down to 0 yardage for the entire game :popcorneater:

IN 08, OAKLAND CAME INTO THE OWLS NEST AND SHUT MY OWLS OUT BY 30 IN THE SEMIS. THAT YEAR WE WERE VERY GOOD ON DEFENSE AND HAD A BACK THAT RAN LIKE A CHEETAH. BUT OAKLAND HAD A BACK BY THE NAME OF PRECIOUS VALENTINE WHO WAS BIG ANDD POWERFUL AND WE COULDN'T STOP THAT STUD WHO RAN RIGHT UP DA GUTT. HE WAS THICKER THAN MD2012. JACQUES SMITH COULDN'T BRING HIM DOWN. BUT IT'S A NEW DAY AND A NEW SYSTEM THAT GREASY RUNS AND THEY ARE FAST. NOW,,, THAT QB IS NO MATCH TO THE ONE IN MEMPHIS AND THAT WILL BE THE DIFFERENCE IMO. DA HAVEN HAVE A STALL OF BACKS INCLUDING THE QB WHO HAS TO BE ACCOUNTED FOR. IM LOOKING FOR ANOTHER MD2012 SHOWDOWN!!

STEVENS WILL BE ALL OVER THE FIELD AND MAKE SURE THAT STUD GET PLENTY PICKLE JUICE HE GONNA NEED IT. THAT OAKLAND DEFENSE BETTER PART THE RED SEA FOR THAT BACK IF YOU WANT HIM TO LAST 4QTRS. DA WOOD WILL BE LAYED ON BOTH SIDES OOOWEEE THIS RIGHCHEA GONNA BE A REAL ONE!!

#LOP

#WOODSHED

#MOLLYWHOP

#RESPECK

#DA HAVEN

You getting me hype my guy!!!

The role of martyr is so unbecoming..I liked it better when you were the biggest best, fastest ain't seen nobody as good as us... can't even think of a college who could compete with our far bigger superior athletes.. Bama would't play us... Don't bother to put your small little farm boys out there,,, save the embarasment and let them stay home and shuck corn.... attitude

Well, I'm just forecasting. It appears that everyone from outside of Memphis thinks that we are going to get our heads handed to us. It appears that everyone outside of Memphis thinks we are about to face a team so dominant, that Whitehaven could literally get throttled. I mean ... if they held Maryville to 7 points ... aren't they going to just run roughshod over Whitehaven? Maryville was considered to be the #1 team in 6A according to the AP poll. Whitehaven was considered #3 in 6A by the same voters ... all year. So, naturally, if Oakland beat Maryville so convincingly, what else is to be expected in the game against Whitehaven?

Isn't that right?

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
