Page... A small school?

Was looking at TSSAA enrollment numbers and noticed that Page has 1123 students. This seemed like A lot to be considered "a small school". Beech, for example, only has 1139. I looked at other schools with similar enrollment numbers and found several "large" schools with less than or a similar amount of students as Page. Gibbs-1009,Hillwood-1103, Lawrence Co-1082, Kenwood-1163, Overton-1184, Seymour-1102,Springfield-1081, Stone Memorial-1061, Tennessee High-1190, and Tullahoma with 1042 students. Also looked up a few other "small schools" enrollment numbers and found they all have less than 1,000 kids. Ex's. Greenbrier-833, Greeneville-913, Hixson-941, Pigeon Forge-741, and Red Bank-785. This didn't happen overnight. How is Page still competing in A/AA? Maybe the teams at Tullahoma, Lawrence Co, Gibbs, and others should ask if they can compete in A/AA this year as well. We could even put Tennessee High and Beech in there while we're at it. Their enrollment numbers are fairly similar to Page's. Please feel free to comment or enlighten me how they have continued to wrestle in the A/AA classification. Sincerly, FARGOSTRUT

Page had less than 1,000 students until the 2016-2017 school year.

A large freshman class and continual growth in the south Williamson County area have led to higher student enrollment for the school year.

Page moves back into the AAA classification in the 2017-2018 school year; Page is fourteenth up from the cut-off numbers of A/AA and AAA.

The new classifications may be found at the TSSAA website. Type in the search engine for 2017 classifications and one will be able to view all sports and their upcoming classifications, regions, etc.
