Shozen
This will be the last year that VanBuren County enjoys a cupcake schedule to host the Substate game. After this year they move into the same region as District 7A. Agreed. Next year will be different however Mills is only a junior so I suspect VB will be a very good team next year. However their only competition this year is CSAS. Clay county beat VB by 25+ twice and CSAS by 20+ twice so that tells you the difference in competition compared to 7A. Back in 2010-2011 they were doubted once they moved to District 6A and ever since then they have made that district their play ground. I do recall last year Coach Edwards did say that the last place he wanted to play in a Sub-State game would be at Van Buren Co. Mills and company will all be Seniors next year & if they make it past Sub-State that'll be THREE years in a row for them to go to State. I certainly wouldn't count them out. They are a quality team no doubt but they benefit by playing in a weak region. I'm by no means saying they won't make it this year and or next year because they have a solid team but if they get upset they can't win on the road. They lost to every team in 7A on the road so they'll need home court to advance and I don't see them beating teams out of 7A on a neutral floor like they'll have to next year. 90warrior
they will be solid again next year. after that it will go downhill fast. don't know if it will happen or not i have always said since they were in elementary school that those boys will win state one year when they get in high school. don't think it will be this year. maybe next. Mills is a solid player no doubt and they really play well at home. After he graduates they will struggle to get out of the first round of the region but for now they are a legitimate contender to go to the glass house. Should be a great game between them and whomever comes out of this region.
Shozen
35-31 Clay Halftime Key only with 13. I expect a solid 2nd half from him. Edited March 1, 2017 by Shozen

Shozen
61-51 Clay Final Key with quite 28 points 10 rebounds. Clay should have won by 15+ but missed tons of free throws. Hats off to GP they play very hard, rebound good, and are fundamentally a great team. Edited March 1, 2017 by Shozen
Celinafan
You were right on point Shozen! Clay Co vs Goodpasture Predictions? I will take Clay by 10 pulling away late and PC over Monterey by 12 to setup a rematch of the 7A district championship.[/quote}
Shozen
I expect Clay to win fairly comfortably. So I will take them by 12-15. It's hard to beat a team 4 times but feel Clay is that much better. It shouldn't be a 30 point blowout like in the season though. I predict Clay will host CSAS and PC will travel to Van Buren with Clay and VB making it to the glass house again.
