We've played and scrimmaged YAI for years off and on. They're a physical bunch, always are. That part doesn't bother me at all with this group but our lack of offensive variety and our predisposition of giving up big splash plays does. It's not gonna be a gimme either way but YAI isn't a group to take lightly.

That lack of offensive variety is a staple of the Oneida program. TL loves him some defense, but really doesn't care if he scores 3 points or 6 he just wants to shut teams out.

I kinda like the philosophy myself.  Defense wins championships and I think Oneida has a few..

True but it's rich in success over the years, Many others would love to have TL on their sidelines.

The annual losers would love to have him and some of the mediocre programs. But most of the good or great programs want what TL hasn't got and that is championships. Granted, he is a good defensive coach.

Not completely true, there have been several area "good and great" programs have rang his cell phone numerous times over the last couple of years. I don't necessarily agree with everything in his philosophy but I'll give him credit, all of his teams win or lose with character. He found an extremely dedicated team chaplain that's there every time the team gets together for any reason and numerous young men have given their lives to Christ during the voluntary team service on Thursday nights. Championships are great but at the end of the day a Christian man of high character that expects your best and holds you accountable is pretty good to. I personally wouldn't want the former without the latter.

Great post Crow! I would put Oneida's chaplain up against any other one in the state! He is a great man of God and truly cares for each and every player on the team. He is a 1st class kinda guy!
