But you will.Alcoa by 28 their just that good.

Uh, the last time AE played Alcoa the score was basically 21-7 with a late Pick 6 with :20 left in the game to make it 28-7.... AE can beat Alcoa if they WRAP UP and stop the run.  Basically, they got to hit ALcoa the same way they were hitting JC last night

Apology Post from Mr. Duane Lay to Austin East High School;

"I would like to formally apologize for my statement about your school and its students, parents, coaches, staff, and community.  My statements were rude, vulgar, and disrespectful to all of you. For this I am sincerely sorry. I had based most of that on unfounded or proven rumors.  I should have known that, but in the heat of competition and moment, I mistook these things as facts.  I was blinded by my own judgement and no one else.  Please do not think my statements reflect all the peoples feelings from Johnson County.  I wish you well on you next week(s) venture towards a state championship.  You all played much faster than about any team ours had faced this year and with the game you played last night, deserved to win. It pains me to say it but the Roadrunners earned their hard fought win and the chance to move on.  Again, please accept my apologies."

Always kill people with kindness and they'll rethink the negative things they thought.  Most of the fans whom saw his 1st post felt uneasy about his remarks however they never stoop down that low nor did they jump out of character. I applaud Mr. Lay for his apology letter and pretty much accepted them on my behalf... Go Horns wish you all the best!!  Time to Move on and prepare for the "So Call" unstoppable team called Alcoa

Its funny.  People (many Tennesseans from East grand division and particularly Northeast) forget their history.  Specifically, Johnson County was very anti-secession. Like 90% of the county voted against leaving the union during the civil war. Many Johnson countians are descendants of independent pioneers and mountain men. Col Butler (he built beautiful Butler Mansion in town) was commander of a UNION tennessee force. Its very sad to me that race came up.  There are also prominent African-American families in mtn city, and several boys from the familes played on good teams in late 1970s and early 80s. sorry for the rant. Sick of my country and state being divided.

Just curious, who ya got in the rematch Friday night Horn?

We wish we could have rematch.  Big turnover in 4th with 836 to go.  Def just got a big stop we are up 21 to 17 offense fumbled next play.  That's the way it goes, hadn't happened all year.

We are playing basketball now.  But A-E thinks they can beat alcoa that means we can too because we should have won that game.  I think gap is closing between region 1 and region 2.  Should be quite a season next year for jc as well with alot of the team returning.

    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
