As you know I am not a big Watson fan from the time he was HC at Siegel.  I thought he choked too much.  I do not think he will be picked up by anyone other than maybe LaVergne.  He would be a big improvement there.  I do not see him going to R'dale or Oakland or back to Siegel.

I have heard NOTHING bad about what happened at Blackman.  I too wish God's blessing on him and his family.

What is the Blackman principal like? This smells of tomfoolery on her part!

Johnny just sayin

I don't know that it would be here in Rutherford county however there are a lot of 4A-5A schools in surrounding counties that would be greatly improved with him as a head coach

She is very driven and competitive. I don't know the reasoning behind this, but not much gets in the way of her goals.

I have known David Watson for over 30 years. He is a fine man and good coach. Maybe the Boss lady is looking to bring her father in. I understand he is a retired college coach.

I agree...he is a great man and I will miss him on the sidelines ... I don't think "the boss" would bring in her pop, but it would lead one to believe she has the resources around her to help her recognize and find a great fit for the program moving forward.

Being a Wilco guy, I'm not familiar with the Principal at Blackman but this reminds me of when Clayton was let go at Franklin. After averaging more than 9 wins per season, making the playoffs every year, and taking the his team to the state championship game, he was fired.  There was no reason given to him or anyone else other than they wanted to go a different direction.  He landed on his feet and so will Coach Watson.  At some point these power tripping administrators need to get a clue.  Good coaches are harder to find than they think and when you have one you support him.  Good luck Coach Watson.

baseball coach= district champ (reg. season), region champ, state tourney...he gone

football coach= 9-3, 2nd round playoffs... he gone

makes perfect sense

Little different situation here

Per the newspaper article around baseball coach

"Justus and Blackman athletic director Scott Lawless both said Entrekin's resignation was voluntary.

"He did come in and resign...I'm not sure what his specific reasoning was," said Lawless. "He met with the team this morning. We met with assistant coaches to try to keep continuity moving forward. We'll look and see who we can find.

"He voluntarily resigned his post. We appreciate everything he's done."

Coach David Watsons  no longer coaching  Blackman as a football coach was more of dismissal...I don't know why and don't know that it was the right thing, but no one asked me.

I have no doubt Coach has probably already got an offer or two in his pocket ... He is a good man, and i respect the heck out of him
