CBHS really needed McCallie to beat Baylor..  CBHS matches up great with Baylor and if they make the finals they will be the champions..

The problem they have is they don’t match up very with with McCallie,  so now they have to find a way to get past McCallie first.  Since River Henry is out for McCallie, the CBHS Match will be a very tight match  with McCallie winning it by 3 points..

But, If CBHS beats McCallie I think they beat Baylor by more than 15 in the finals..

if McCalllie meets Baylor in the finals as I think they will, then I’m guessing McCallie doesn’t try to bump their  whole team this time and It’s ends up being a 3 point match with Baylor coming out on top again..

As for the ¾ match most would assume that the winner of FR v MBA would automatically make it to ¾ and finish 4th.     But my prediction is that MBA beats FR in the first round but then gets upset by a very strong Knox Grace team in conso semis.  And Knox Grace loses to CBHS in ¾ match..

Would love to know how you see the Bros vs McCallie match up ending up with a 3 point win for McCallie. Care to share where you arrived at that number?

It’s Pretty simple...  MCCALLIE AND CBHS  just wrestled a month ago and Mccallie won by 11.

CBHS didn’t have Tommy and Mccallie won 195 by 3.  I gave Tommy 4 in my math so that plus 7 for CBHS.  So it now it’s +4 for Mccallie..  River Henry is out for the season so that a huge 12 point swing for CBHS.   So now it plus 8 for CBHS.   Cody Chittum didn’t wrestle last time and if you put him in the line up I have Mccallie pinning out 6-26..  so that’s a plus 11 for McCallie..  which makes the score plus 3 for Mccallie..  Mccallie also has Mason Hughes for this dual.. so that changes 45 and 52..  but I see McCallie still winning 45 but only by 3 this time and I see CBHS still winning 52 but only by 3 this time so that’s a net wash and final score ends up plus 3 for McCallie..

Granted I’m a McCallie homer but I think I’m being pretty conservative in numbers..

the math is very tight and leans towards McCallie..  if it wasn’t so tight then Bowers wouldn’t have dropped to 26 just for this dual..  if McCallie won the flip and was able to bump there Lite weights then the math gets a lot worse for CBHS... which is why Bowers is going to weigh in at 26 for state Duals basically only for the McCallie match just to keep McCallie from bumping and force them to go straight up..

And wait. If you think Bowers is coming down to 126, (which I’ve heard differently) you are telling me that he gets pinned ? By who may I ask?

Gawd no..  I don’t see Bowers dropping to 26 if McCallie doesn’t bump..  I’ve got CBHS still getting 6 with Bowers at 32..

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
