No sir. SGC has 2. We lost to Mcnasty and Covington.

If you beat us and McScary wins out and we all finish 3-2 in the region first tie breaker is overall record. So the team with the best overall record would get the 2 seed and then heads up would decide the seeding of the remaining two. I didn’t realize McCrusty was 6-2. Looks like they may end up the 2 if there is a 3 way tie. And the winner of our game would be 3 and loser 4.

Next day reflections:

1. SGC played a great game against my Chargers. Congrats to players and coaches.

2.super defense by SHC in this game.Yall held the Chargers well below our season average for scoring.

3. I agree 100% with the SHC decision to go for two at the end of the game. Make one play and walk away with a monumental upset. Covington made a similar call @ Milan last year to win in overtime.

4. Best wishes for SHC in the playoffs. We may meet again. I’m not sure that I want to play you again though. This game was too close for comfort.

I should have been more specific. What I said earlier is not just in reference to a 3-way tie. It’s specifically a 3 way tie where the 3 involved teams beat each other. Covington has beat us all.  If McNairy beats Bolivar and South Gibson beats Milan each team will be tied for 2nd place in the region and we will have all 3 beaten each other so in that situation head to head cannon the used. To break that 3 way tie overall record would determine the 2 seed and that would go to McNairy. And then heads up would be used to break the tie between the remaining two teams which would make SG the 3 and Milan the 4. But Milan is the only team of the 3 that controls its own destiny. They beat SG and they are the 2. McNairy can be the 2 if SG beats Milan. But honestly it comes down to 2 games McNairy vs Bolivar and Milan vs SG. Depending on the results of those two games any of the 3 teams can finish 2,3 or 4. Good news is they are all guaranteed a playoff spot.

BPM Really? Overall record? Regardless of strength of schedule? That really, really sucks. We better just take care of business so it doesn’t come to that.

I’m pretty sure region 7 will sweep region 8 in first round of playoffs so there will be lots of rematches in rounds 2&3–what y’all think??

I'm not sure about a sweep, but I do believe that Region 7-3A is a lot stronger top to bottom than 8-3A. Still, when you put the #1 team in  their region up against the #4 team from ours, there is a good chance for that #1 to advance. It will be interesting to see how the playoffs go.

I did look at the standings in 8-3A. Wooddale has clinched the Region championship. Raleigh Egypt and Trezevant still have a head to head matchup that will put the winner in the #2 position. Melrose is currently #4 and has a game with Wooddale still to play. If they upset Wooddale, they might move up. Not sure on tiebreakers, and will wait for someone else to tell me. However, I think the news said that Melrose just fired their coach last week, so they don't figure to do much, I suppose.
