how has maryville struggled with talent when they’ve literally been to every state championship since 2000 minus 2 years ago and has never lost more than 2 games in that span? no one is claiming maryville has the better athletes than out west BUT WHO CARES? numbers don’t lie. go count how many gold balls the West has brought home compared to maryville. I’ll hang up and wait.

darn yall stupid and arrogant. I am sorry I was trying not to go there. To struggle with something or someone does not mean you don't win. For example Maryville blow out Hendersonville but struggles for (or has lost to) Whitehaven who had better athletes. That is my point. Stop talking about the past because we are talking about this year. Not any other. Period. Stop playing double Dutch and hoping in the middle of a tread without reading.

Does anyone know the area and the public school that has produced the most  legitimate D-1 players?

I am guessing Memphis- Whitehaven. Rutherford County- Riverdale.

Brentwood Academy may hold the private school record.

Whether they won Championship or not, it should reflect the best athletes.

I do believe a top athlete in High School does make a difference in winning or losing.  Some of you seasoned veterans can probably remember some teams that only won titles when a superstar player was on the team.  That player leaves and then the team doesn't win championships, even if they have the same coaches.

Conversely, there a programs that are championship programs.  Alcoa, won three championships in a row with three different head coaches.  Was it the coaches or the athletes and the program?  For a small school and town, nobody can match what Alcoa has done year after year.  They are the best public program in the State, and I am a Maryville fan.  Alcoa is the best program in the State, and this year, the best team in the State!

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
