Hey C, do you think it could be arranged so that whoever loses friday night plays UTC in a consolation game? lol. I actually think that both teams would get beat by UTC, but thought it was funny that yall were saying that.

I wasnt making any accusations about the stadium,I think its great that UTC is generous enough to offer their facilities,it will probably feel more like playing for the state championship in such a huge stadium. GOOD LUCK LANDERS

The cost to rent Finley Stadium is $5,000. It had a Georgia high school playoff game on it last Friday, so that didn't help the field any. There has to be at least 3,000 people there for Boyd-Buchanan to break even on the game. Also, Boyd-Buc will not recieve any concession money or parking money from the game (The Stadium Corporation, who runs Finley, gets all of that.). The grounds crew at Finley does a great job of trying to keep that field in shape despite all of the football and soccer games held on it this fall. They must do a good job or the NCAA would come back every year for the 1-AA Football Chamionship game. Good luck to both teams and hope you enjoy playing at Finley.

I dont know how many people live in roan mtn. since i dont live there now,but ill bet they will have a hard time finding someone to run the businesses friday,we will probably bring half of carter county with us so there shouldnt be any shortage of cloudland fans

They haven't played football there before. I believe they played a big soccer game there a few years ago though.

I would say that Cloudland could have 1000-1500 easy if anyone else besides Cloudland fans show up. I heard that boyd moved the game becuase that they could not handle the crowd. I also met some refs friday and said that the field was pretty bad there. So does anyone know the truth? Glad they have another place to play. GO LANDERS

The school did not pay for the rental of the field so they don't care about "breaking even". The parking and concession money goes to private contractors who bid the stadium corp for the job.

We can handle the crowd. We were in "the jungle" last week, but the loudness only lasted about a quarter. It really wasn't as loud as they were making it out to be anyway, or as loud as I thought it would be. I think there are two reasons the game is being played there. UTC is kind enough to let us use it (since they don't need it for the rest of the season. ), and our field is not in very good shape after the friendship christian game. There probly wouldn't be too much grass on the field because of the beating it got a little over a week ago.
