District 8-A

Eagleville with Ethan Cobb (Tn Tech Football) , Blake Brewer- Vol State, Isaac Gleaves- Vol State  & Ryan Wells 2020 have some solid pieces to do well.

Travis Holland HC is all in and a great coach

Assistant Todd Williamson is down to earth and as high of a baseball IQ as you'll meet.

Cornersville- Caleb Crowell & Graham Duke RHP MIF are going to give Cornersville a chance to be very successful. Gritty dudes who go compete their tails off with alot of ?'s that I feel like that coaching staff will have ready to play at Cornersville.

Don't know enough about other teams but interested to see if they have some dudes that can contend for a district title.

Moore Co. had a very young team last year with some good pitching. Fayetteville has a couple of good starting pitchers. Cascade has a new coach but lost most of their pitching. Huntland should be better. So it sounds like Eagleville is the favorite with the rest battling for second spot.

Any thoughts after the first few weeks?

Eagleville had a good showing in the Single A Classic this past week.  Close competitive games.  Eagleville lost to Gibson Co 6-7 but beat both Huntingdon & Loretto on Friday by one point.

I believe if they keep improving they will be playing at the end of May!

Eagleville is by far the best team with Cornersville  a distant second. Not much difference between Fayetteville, Cascade, and Moore Co.  Huntland will finish last.

Cornersville is gonna be a tougher test than you think. They always play Eagleville close in the more important games and the team can hit the ball very well this year.

When do they play? Depends on the pitching how they do.

They play April 22 &23

I’m not sure what what “more important “ games you are referring to but last meeting eagles won 11-3 & 8-2. Of course that was last year.

Then in district tournament it was eagles over bulldogs 5-1

Cornersville is ranked and Eagleville is not. Sure they will be ready to prove polls wrong.

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
