biggreenmachine
I figured since the AP poll was a joke I would take a stab at it myself. 1. Knoxville Central- #1 until they’re beat 2. Beech- another deep playoff run 3. Powell- most impressive wins so far 4. South Doyle- two blowout wins 5. Rhea County- two comfortable wins 6. Hillsboro- uber talented 7. Shelbyville- offense good. Defense ??? 8. Page- two solid wins 9. David Crockett- small body of work 10. Henry County- tough two opening opponents Just missed (in alphabetical order): Campbell County Fulton Gallatin Kirby Knoxville West Ridgeway Summit Let the debating began! dawgs82
Biggreen, they need you on the AP voting committee! I think you have the proper teams in the top 10. West would be close to getting in. I personally would flip-flop the top 4.(if the poll was solely based on this years performances). Central just isn't clicking yet, and I know they always start out this way. But I worry about how they will handle teams with good lines of scrimmage. Beech, I've not seen them play in person, but I don't see them being better than SD and Powell. Powell has beaten two very good teams already and South Doyle is just a machine. I'm not giving up on my Bobcats, but it's going to take a special season from someone to take down those two. And they will play each other at the end of the regular season.
Coach423T
Crockett is alot better than #9 I think. They have one of the Best Offenses in 5A if not State.
biggreenmachine
I think Crockett is higher as well. I was just going off of their current body of work.

My opinion Kirby is a top 10 team. They are 2-0 with a combined score in those 2 games of 81-0. They have pitched 2 shutouts to start the season and they have plenty of talent. OmahaPatriot
Can’t argue with any of these. Can someone link the actual AP poll? I guess I’m old and suck at the internet because I can’t seem to find it.

Don’t disagree with that assessment at all, but blowouts against Hillcrest and Bolivar aren’t exactly a strong litmus test. Polls are always an inexact science the first few weeks anyways.
