What’s going on there? A lot of youth?

They've had a ton of key injuries, which really hurts when you're young and don't have a lot of depth. I think the hope was that they could survive until they got healthy, since they only had 2 region games in the first 7 weeks. That's obviously not going to happen. They played incredibly well against Central, but that looks like an aberration now. The wheels literally came off in the second half last week against AE, and this was just a continuation of that.

Way too vanilla. We went away from the run too quickly. Where are the stretch plays, sweeps, bunny-hop options like West did? Pound it up the middle all da$& night against a defense that stout? Heck, I thought Jackson did a tremendous job given the circumstances of the same run call all daggum night. Where was Stewart all game? Their one CB was about 5’6 tops. Why didn’t we exploit that? I’m far from being a coach but our offense is way too vanilla, especially against a really good defense like that. Way too predictable. You have to give the defense something to think about on the edge at least. Oh well, with that said they are the better team but it’s gonna be a long season if we can’t open the playbook a little bit more than what I saw tonight.

You guys saw a different game than I did. I take back what I said earlier in the week because OR doesn't have a single player who can start for them. They were WAY BIGGER than OR and they were WAY FASTER than OR. West was smart in that the two SEC commits were lined up on opposite sides of the defense and at defensive end or wider. And you want OR to run wide on them?????????????  That looked like a high school team vs a boys club team with respect to size alone. That little 5'6" DB covered every OR receiver like a drum. OR fought hard tonight but the team who won was VASTLY SUPERIOR to OR and OR is lucky it wasn't 49-0.

We were lucky to keep it close, that’s for sure. I just think you need to at least keep the defense a little bit honest, that’s all. You’re correct that they were clearly the better team, I just thought that the play calling didn’t give us much of a chance at all if we had any to begin with which wasn’t much. What would it hurt to run some stretch plays or options? Obviously what we were doing all night didn’t work ha. Wouldn’t have hurt to try at least.

Been saying this for so Long! It’s insane running up the middle in a freaking pistol????! With two receivers??? Horrible man just horrible! Again deep balls was inaccurate again.. no Stewart idk what happened he got more passes last year with a better squad??? Playbook has been horrible for awhile now! I think the playbook needs a complete change!!!!! Starting with to be continued on next post.....

Yeah, pretty bad tackling tonight but the defense did decent considering they were on the field practically all night, especially the 2nd half and had to defend a short field for a large majority of the game. Our offense just poses zero threat. We can’t stretch the field on any defense so just put 8 in the box and we’re done for.

It's about two things and I've been telling all of you for months...no big linemen who can move (am I the only guy who saw the difference in the size of the two teams) and no speed at all. How do you stretch the field with no speed. Play selection could be better I guess but different plays won't make up for no speed and no size when you play a team like West. Get ready for the same to happen when OR plays Powell. They are huge and fast.

Shotgun formation split Romano/jackson receivers Johnson/17/24 split slot reps Stewart outside. 36 needs to be used as an additional blocker on short yards! I would motion 17 and Johnson on jet sweeps etc... can’t go to in Dept. Short yardage I form.. Romano at fb(he’s a legit running back) decent size to block and get 2-4 yards if needed! I think Kendall would thrive with a fb blocking his way from under the center! CHANGE IMMEDIATELY And open the playbook I’m tired of boys club predictable plays!

You do realize that Mitchell nor Kendall wasn’t tackled in the backfield? We missed sacks plenty! Line wasn’t the factor of losing this game today! 12 made plays on Johnson all night. One should of been interception! And you can’t give up and inside slant on the wide side! I hate to be on him cause he makes plays left and right but he has to take credibility and gets 0 passes from me!

I can agree that it wouldn't hurt to run a stretch play or an option but when you go against a team that's much bigger, much faster, and much more athletic, I'm not sure that it matters a whole lot. I liked the first play of the game , which was a long pass but their fast DB covered the OR average speed receiver easily.

I was also bothered by the deep balls inaccurate. I do wonder why OR didn't match up Stewart on the small corner. Stewart barely played so maybe he was in the doghouse.

Yeah, we were pretty much outmanned at every position tonight. I agree with Elite though, I’d like to see both Jackson & Romano in the backfield some. Just gives a defense another guy to worry about. In our offense we are pretty much wasting Romano because our passing attack is really below average, so he’s not touching the ball hardly at all. Put him in the backfield along with Kendall and he’s touching the ball at least 5 times a game.

Looks like the rest of our season against above average teams is just gonna have to be a ball control offense to keep the opposing teams offense off the field because our offense just isn’t able to sustain long drives. Sadly, there’s just not much to work with out there to be frank. On the bright side, Kendall Jackson is a baller. Imagine that kid as a SR with 2 full years in the weight room. We are looking at our next D1 athlete folks. That kid is a stud. He was punishing tacklers tonight and that’s a tough a$& defense he was putting a hurting on.

I know this.....OR doesn't have a player who can start for them. Their linemen dwarfed the OR linemen and their skill players were faster than all of the OR skill players. I don't always like the play calling, in fact I usually don't, but a 24-7 loss to that team is closer than it should've been. I like Johnson but he's not very good on defense.
