If Cane Ridge and Stewie finish 1 & 2...which looks possible... how would that end up in the playoffs?  Just for kicks, let's says Smyrna gets 3 and LaVergne gets 4...

Would LaVergne and/or Smyrna have to go on the road to Brentwood and/or Ravenwood, then CR and Stewie get home games against Indy and/or whoever?  And who from Williamson is probably going to get the last spot?

If I had to guess the matchups would look like this:

Franklin (#4 6-6A) @ Cane Ridge (#1 5-6A)

Independence (#3 6-6A) @ Stewart's Creek (#2 5-6A)

Smyrna (#3 5-6A) @ Ravenwood (#2 6-6A)

LaVergne (#4 5-6A) @ Brentwood (#1 6-6A)

Trap games all around, Franklin is probably one of the better losing record teams in Middle Tn, Independence can play with anyone in this bracket. Ravenwood is still overrated, and Smyrna has shown they can play good at times as well. Anyone’s ball game. Although I see Ravenwood making it out.

Ravenwood is overrated yet you think they will be making a semi-final appearance most likely against Whitehaven. Someone sounds like a scorned lover.

Also Ravenwood, Brentwood, and Indy will win their 1st round games. The Battle of the Woods II will be a dandy at Brentwood in the quarterfinals.

Not an automatic Indy beats SC. Until this investigation gets settled, you gotta give Brentwood the edge.

They were polled number 2 going into the season. I was expecting much more in the way of dominance than they have showed, considering a number 2 team in the state should probably have fared better than a field goal victory over Blackman. Whilst OAKLAND put 40 whooping on the same team. Rematches can be difficult, If we were to see Brentwood and Ravenwood again.... it’s definitely hard to win a rematch of that caliber.

Sonny Moore's ranking says Indy 6 points better on a neutral field but that does not factor in the most recent games which were a Stewie win and Indy loss.  Not that blowing out McGavock will move the needle a bunch.  Still close to a pick 'em.  I think Cane Ridge will certainly advance and that LaVergne and/or Smyrna would get eliminated by Ravenwood and/or Brentwood.

Just looking at some of the top teams in 6A last year.

Oakland lost during the season to Maryville 24-21. They played again in the playoffs and Oakland won 38-0.

Whitehaven lost to Germantown during the season 37-19. They played again in the playoffs and Whitehaven won 14-0.

Ravenwood lost to Brentwood 31-28 during the season. They played again in the playoffs and Ravenwood won 47-24.

There were plenty of odds scores in the first couple weeks. There always are as teams are still coming together and the heat is often a factor.

I would argue the cold could be as well.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
