What do you want me to say??? I was wrong??? I admit when I am wrong. Sounds like it was a great game. Hate I missed it as I was in Campbell County. Look forward to round 2 if they both can get there. How did the 6 D-1 WR’s and 3 D-1 RB’s play for Powell?

Bailor Hughes was the best player on the field. Big RB for West is legit

Cornbread?    Your kidding me?

I have been involved in HS football for over 20 years,  I have NEVER SEEN officiating this bad both ways.  Only difference was the so called "refs" made 2 terrible game changing calls on Powell that would of put them in the redzone both times.  1st one was they called Baylor Hughes out of bounds on a great sideline catch that would of set Powell up 1st and goal (you can see the pay on 5star preps.  Has over 15k vies)  The other one was the opening kickoff of the second half, when West litteraly dropped the ball on the return and Powell recovered inside the 20.  THEY OVER TURNED THE FUMBLE!!!!  This crew is being turned into TSSAA for calling an absolute atrocious game.  TSSAA should be embarrassed!  Film and multiple complaints are being sent in as we we speak!

275 yards of offense for both .  Hopefully they take care of business and we can try round 2.  Love the 2 point call - great play by Powell defender to stand him up short of the goal. Big win for your Panthers.

Powell wins by 2 touchdowns if not for the refs!  They made GAME CHANGING CALLS!  See for yourself at 5star Preps.  One of the plays the refs MISSED AND HE WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE PLAY was when Powell had a HUGE gain and ref called WR out of bounds......Would of set Powell up in side the 5 yard line.  Instead they had to punt. 5star Preps got play on film and it has over 15k in views on twitter.  TERRIBLE

So you are saying that West had nothing to do with Powell not playing well, it was all the refs. Didn’t they have 4 turnovers? Stayed in the game with 4 turnovers? I need to see the QB slammed to the ground. If that happened somebody should have been ejected. Anybody got film of it?

They slam our QB on the ground and we get flagged 30 yards for complaining......lol Cant make this up!

Yeah that was the play that caught my attention. And Matt Lowe's. I don't blame him for coming on the field after that. The officials lost all semblance of control at that point. There was clear intent to injure on that play.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
