Union City in the playoffs is always dangerous. They might not be extremely explosive but they have what it takes to make it back to Peabody. Ground and Pound always seems to frustrate the Memphis schools. UC 28 Fairley 20

Your score is similar to what I was thinking. Maybe 35-28

The Fairley coach is a Whitehaven alumni... Ground and pound may be in his team's wheelhouse...

Discipline wins the day on defense for Fairley. Shut down the dive and crush the QB ... all night. 2nd & long and 3rd and long for UC all night wins the game for Fairley.

The Fairley D will shut down the UC run game. Fairley will make them punt. Then Fairley will get the ball and score. UC will get behind and have to pass, which they don't want to have to do.

Fairley will win and advance to the quarterfinals.

They won’t stop it completely. They didn’t last year they won’t this year. Union city won’t pass on third and long. They will only pass if fairley isn’t expecting it. Union city will score and fairley may win.

Fairley's D will stop them enough to make it 2nd and long and 3rd and long pretty consistently. Consistently enough to beat them. Not looking for a shut-out. Looking for the W.

Maybe, one year we went up 21-0 on union city they came out in second half scored 28 points and beat us. They kept the ball away and wore our defense out.

the reason they are so successful is it doesn’t take much talent to run the offense. They have corrected the mistakes they were making earlier in the season.

they do well in the playoffs because the teams  in the playoffs haven’t seen the offense it’s nothing like anyone else runs. Very frustrating to defend

Discipline on D is the key. No hero ball. Do your job. Assignment. Get the W. Advance.

    • Dyersburg is going to be good, really good. As mentioned, they have a lot of talent on the way and the trio of Chelby, Joya, and KayKay will only be better with a full season together under their belt. To me, playing in Murfreesboro two consecutive postseasons will only serve to make them more dangerous if/when they stand among the final eight teams this March. Experience, good or bad, always makes you better. And not only do they have experience, they know how to win there. Schedules are coming together for all of the teams and I am excited about what I am seeing on the preliminary drafts on Dyersburg’s schedule. I know I am being a tease, but it’s simply not my place to announce what another school is doing. With that said, I won’t go into specifics. However, I am excited about renewed home and away contracts for the non-district portion of the calendar. I think west Tennessee will have a lot of interest as well.
    • What does everyone have in the final 8? In no particular order. 1. Eagleville 2. Gordonsville 3. Greenback 4. Oakdale 5. South Pitt/ East Robertson-- not sure 6. Richland 7. Halls 8. Union City
    • They struggled to field a team last year. I don’t see them being much better?
    • sx good two know thay didun't waint that entarr citty two see yeller/red......
    • Couldn’t agree more.. Tate is a special kinda player , but fortunately for us we get a best of 3 series. I think our pitching is better than last year when we made the trip to west tn. Should be a fun 2 or 3 games.
