Not trying to make you mad but I bet those kids love playing football with each other. They still went out and worked hard just like any other kids does. It’s School Ball to those kids at Elizabethton to. Parents are the ones that have the finally say. You should give the kids credit for what they did and will do.

Nothing for me to be mad about,

I think they encourage all of them. Some kids just want to be on a team and could care less if they play. Did you not see what Witten did at the and of the game. I kid that has been out all year with a broke foot I think dressed out for the game even he couldn’t play. At the end of the game he put the kid in. Rollins took the shotgun snap and handed it off to the kid and he took the knee. That’s pure class and being a great coach.

Shoot my oldest played travel baseball all over on several different teams,Played little league also. Any of the Travel teams would have beat the Little League team 100 to 0., He had just as much fun on the little league team.

If my main desire was for my kids to get the max attention, I would've transferred mine...That wasn't my nor our main focus tho. I also understand that "some" coaches in middle schools are encouraging the move to Elizabethton...That's interesting to me

To me that would be a complement. It’s still on you as a parent. All you got to do is say thanks but my kid is staying put. If you feel like that’s the best then go.

Mine was headed to the East West game to play QB and FS....Witten was the East coach and still welcomed him even tho he was injured in the semis...He was involved in all aspects of the game prep and made captain of the team....so yes Witten has my respect as a person. Not everyone thinks too highly of him tho. That's the case with most coaches but not a good enuf reason to transfer mine.

Wasn't so classey last year when Cloudland wanted to use the field for the playoff game. They wouldn't even return the call. Thanks to HV they didn't have to play in the mud bowl.

That could be illegal, They are not allowed to encourage outside kids.

Not really a middle school coach's job nor his/her business to try and shaft the high school coaches by suggesting players head to another school...I think that to be a dang good reason to release such a coach of his position...especially if the HS program is respectable...Think it's underhanded to say the least...bet they wouldn't appreciate it if they were the HC at the high school.

    • Who’s going to lead the pirates offense this year?
    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
