Starting a thread for each division...

Single A news: Harpeth lost 5 seniors from the team (including two All-State players playing at the next level this year) that finished third in state last year, BUT are returning 4 players that saw a lot of floor time. They also have a new coach that everyone is excited about. So, don't count them out.

I believe Hickman County only lost 2 seniors and they regain their good middle who missed all of last season with injuries. It should make District 10-A & Region 5-A more exciting this year.

Watertown lost 3 seniors I believe, but are returning their OH and Setter, both of which were All-State selections. They should be formidable in single A.

Loretto will be looking to get back to state behind Weathers who is a beast, but is not enough. They need others to rally around her.

Again this year, Summertown will be tough to beat. They lost hardly anything and were full of young players and won state.

In two weeks there is a Watertown tourney that will probably contain many of these teams. Will be interesting to see how those early season matchups shake out.

Big time matchup between Summertown and Loretto tonight. One of the 4 times they will likely play this season. Always a battle. Jay, please update us.

Watertown tourney this weekend. It's an interesting mish mash of mostly small school teams: Watertown, Brentwood Academy, Fairview, Harpeth, Camden, Beech, Friendship Christian & White House Heritage. Mt. Juliet was supposed to be in there, but they are quarantined after coach and several players affected by COVID-19 this past week.

    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
