True. What’s crazy is he is a former defensive coordinator. He is very smart and has a great defensive mind. He knows his stuff on both sides. I don’t know what’s been up the last few years with his teams defense. But your right, his offense is pretty impressive. I’m curious to see what he has done with Camden. It will be nice not seeing the same ol Camden. I am excited see my Tigers do work though. High expectations this year for Waverly.

When your team scores as quickly as McConnell's Tigers did, the defense is on the field a LOT without time to rest... just my theory.

Who said he had a high powered offense this year <_<

I'm thinking like you vandy. As confident as I am that he will find/develop pieces to put together a dynamic offense, I'm figuring it's too soon in the process with too little practice time to resemble what he had at Waverly. A good defense develops faster than an offense.

Yes I totally agree!

What I’ve seen his offenses are always high powered

Well he has also had stud athletes to work with, that always helps. 2 stud QBs. 1 at Waverly surrounded by a highly talented running back, and a highly talented receiver. 1 at Westview. Does Camden have a stud QB? I don’t think so, but I do believe he will put one of his top athletes at that position. Probably one of the running backs or receivers from last year. Have you seen Camden practice? Who knows what they have?

    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
    • A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
    • Thoughts? Gordonsville won it last year with a sophomore pitcher and returned almost everybody. Can anyone beat them?
    • I was kind of surprised to read this. I thought the general concision was most programs are going back to natural grass. Personally, I have never liked turf. I see the arguments on both side for or against it. I just never liked them. Also, I did not know there as an impaction test that these fields had to pass. Good stuff OP
