The latest AP poll for 3A still includes teams that are not playing football so far. At some point, I assume that the voters will need to drop these teams out of the poll completely and move other teams up.

Class 3A

                                    Record    Pts    Prv

1. Alcoa (15)                2-0          150    1

2. Covington                2-0          132    3

3. Red Bank                 2-0          114    4

4. Loudon                     2-0            98    5

5. Fairview                    1-0            85    6

6. Pearl-Cohn               0-0            59    2

7. Westview                  2-0            48    T9

8. Milan                         1-1            43    8

9. Giles County             0-1            25    7

10. East Nashville         0-0            18    T9

Others receiving 12 or more points: Brainerd 15.

Top 3 maybe 4 are a lock to stay there all year unless R5 metro starts slinging the pigskin. If so, I'd put PC at 2, Covington 3, Red Bank 4, Loudon 5.

After that it doesn't matter much. Alcoa is the best team in Tennessee this year most likely. The rest of us are fighting for a silver ball.

So, Red Bank or Loudon would meet Alcoa before the title game, right?

Covington would need to get through 7-3A (a tough row to hoe most years) then would have to play Giles County if PC doesn’t play.

Its a long way from where we are to Cookeville. Anything can happen.

If Metro Nashville doesn't play you'll meet Giles county or Fairview in the semifinals. Provided you can take care of your very tough region opponents.

Red Bank and Loudon would meet Game 13, as they did last year, with the winner getting Alcoa Game 14.
