According to Cal Preps on a neutral field they have South Pitt 35 George Walton Academy 17
Obviously you play the game on the field but I’m not sure that they are better than the Pirates.

I’ve found cal preps unreliable this year, as well as Massey... Massey has predicted us to lose every single game we’ve played! Massey said for a game between the Pirates and George Walton the score would be 28-27 George Walton the winners at a neutral field!

One of many that turned us down because they “couldn’t travel.”

Well, it makes sense.  I mapped it out on Google Maps and it is a whole 20 minutes shorter drive time going to Copper Hill than it is going to South Pittsburg.

I am a Pirate fan myself but @TheRefuter sent the massy ratings matchup tool to a post a while back and it seems pretty accurate George Walton 28 South Pitt 27 on a neutral field and my Pirates also win 40 to 7 over the Cougars so South Pitt is good along with George Walton but the Cougars are in for a rough back half of the season.

Objectively, I do not trust Cal Preps. Massey Ratings Matchup Tool has proven to be the more accurate tool over the years, but I don't have complete faith in it this year either.

I have found that Cal Preps suffers from recency bias. It says that 2020 SP is as good as, or better than every SP team from the last decade, including 2010.

I have seen them play. They are good, but it is impossible to tell whether or not they are better than 2010, 2011, or 2013 SP.

Same thing for Copper Basin. It says 2020 CB is better than both quarterfinal teams of the 2010s.

Again, I have seen them play. It is impossible to tell whether or not they are better than 2010 CB, 2012 CB or 2014 CB.

    • That is absolutely not the truth.  Few if any college coaches or school administrators want to be in the middle of legal proceedings if there is any way possible to avoid being caught in the middle.  With that being said I have two questions: 1.  Why would a coach remove any player from the team for using the F WORD?  Yes, I fully understand the player must be held accountable for her actions.  Maybe extra running and even a one game suspension but if every kid or coach that used improper language was kicked on the team or fired, they would have no players or coaches available to play the games. 2.  If there was truly another player or coach that witnessed this situation, and they agree with the player then by all means the coach should be held accountable for their actions.
    • 1st round exit?        For real ?!?!?!                     Oh wait.....    are we talking band or football?
    • Assistant football staff still the same? Any replacement for Brian Beaubien? Who will be the DC? Will there be anything going on this spring with football? I go watch practice often.
    • Their feeder programs are in the best shape they've ever been.
    • The definition of what happened to the ex-coach is ambiguous. The school said they were going in a different direction and thanked her for her service as coach. Apparently, coaches in Warren County operate on one-year agreements of some type. Rumors are that she was asked to resign, and refused. Whatever happened, it appears that the school system did not renew the one-year agreement with the ex-coach to come back for another season. One and done tenure as coach. Stotts has been a guidance counselor at the high school in Warren County. Several years ago, the former girls coach who is now an AD and assistant principal dismissed Stotts from his staff on the first day of the season. That reality made the hiring of Stotts a mystery to many people in Warren County.
