I agree and hope win or lose the Mt.Juliet game its a spring board to what we should be on offense

It’s a non-conference game....so we’ll see how coaching prepares them. My guess is it’ll be the same predictable offensive schemes and they’ll get thrashed at the line.

I'm not quite as negative as you are but I do have some concerns about how we will block what I suspect is a pretty good defense.

Man, y’all are awful. And here I was thinking I was bad at railing against our guys. Wow lol. Honestly, sometimes, I think we all need to take a step back and realize these are high school kids playing a child’s game, myself included. I admit that I have gotten way too wrapped up in it over the years.

I’m gripping about them coaches. That’s all. I think we have a mountain of talent.

Couldn’t agree more but also let’s not leave out very poor coaching; bad decisions everywhere, lack of execution on both sides of the ball. This team lacks focus and that’s a coaching responsibility.
Sad truth is nothing will get better until the coaching staff is rectified starting at the top and at every side of the Offense. The DB coach is probably the worst I’ve seen in 30 years of watching the Cats.
My 2 cents for what it’s worth: watching kids that are dressed out playing grab #### when the team is getting blown out is absolutely appalling. Every blowout loss this year you see dressed out kids jumping and playing grab #### on the sidelines; big smiles, just having them a real ball. That’s unacceptable and the fact that the coaches allow that tells me they lack focus.
Whippin a very bad team like Karns means absolutely nothing. In fact, I overheard someone last night saying that the 3 teams OR beat this season has a single win among them. Pathetic. Nothing to celebrate here.
The coaches need a whippin. They lack focus and allow these kids to play grab ####.
I guarantee you all these kids get participation ribbons after every game. Horrible.

Concerning the kids on the sidelines. First of all, they are kids. When I played and was on the bench I did the same stuff, we went 13-1 that year. I’m not sure what you expect them to do, stand at attention or parade rest, or? Are they not entitled to have a good time simply because the team isn’t playing well? I guess they should be depressed and unhappy? Why do you even care what they’re doing? I care about what’s going on on the field. What’s going on on the sidelines is of no benefit to me. Do you not think Maryville and Alcoa, Farragut kids do the same things? Or are they all standing at attention?

Last time I checked a team is a team; composed of starters, 2nd, 3rd stringers, etc. You can’t have kids who ‘may see playing time’ grab assing on the side line. Especially when the ‘team’ is getting beat bad.
This ain’t pop warner football. This is HS ball. Coaches responsibility to clean it up. That is all.

Ehh, to each their own, I guess. I could care less what they’re doing, but that’s just me. If it was completely out of hand and control, sure, but I’ve seen nothing of the like. And I’m sure the coaches would correct it, if it was out of hand.

Look Dog, I know we are in the era of participation ribbons but back in my day, if you dressed, you were watching the field, period. Kids learn from it believe it or not.
Coaches allowing kids to grab #### sends a message; no discipline.
It ain’t rocket science but then again, back in my day we didn’t do this participation ribbon stuff. We also didn’t have color TV LOL.

Gotta agree with the smiling and the inattention on the sideline. I hate it. Its generational. What can the coaches do? Question little Tommy's character and here comes mom and the cancel culture crowd. Where's dad to chew that @$$?

I remember a middle school game a few years ago. Jefferson lost and my former #10 and his running mate #54 cried, cussed, spit, and hated life. The rest went and got ice cream. Give me a few warriors that despise losing.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
