Youth?

Yes.But still have better talent than what I've seen.Play calling is atrocious.LC has a great sophomore running back.Very good freshman qb that's playing some and will get better.Think he will be one of best ever in time.Have 2 other talented running backs, juniors.Thought one of them would be the starter but sophomore has moved above him.Young line. And it shows.Middle school has about 4 studs  but one of them is running back while other is qb.So even as talented as they are, either LC running back a sophomore and qb a freshman, wont start till their senior year at qb and junior year at running back barring something unforseen. But they will start at other positions. So after this year, things should be great next 4 years if things dont happen like trabsfers, injuries

I'm sure there is so much more!

Yaw have seen em all, I’ve heard em all, seen one, we been progressively getting worse each week , and to me , discipline, youngins have no identity wanting identity( record number of unsportsmanlike penalties, more than we have had in the last decade maybe?) and six plays ain’t gonna cut it

All of lake county’s problems start with coaching. I hate to say it but discipline wasn’t an issue when Puckett was here. Kids throwing helmets on the sidelines getting penalties on the field is unacceptable. Also play calling is atrocious. If the region wasn’t so horrible this year we’d be borderline not making the playoffs

Yep yep yep, sit em on the Bench couple games, I’d rather lose with discipline than without , and somebody give him a playbook to show the way past the line of scrimmage

I agree.Like what was said earlier.LC will finish with a good or maybe great record this year just cause the teams are weaker.

So Is the new coach just not the right fit?

Theres enough talent on this year to be doing better against weaker Single A teams  even though LC is young. We all knew this team wasnt last years team or even years before but play calling has been terrible.Had a guy under me yell at the coach,Why dont you run the ball up the middle again coach, its really working well..I'm not as close as some others like 68 and shocker as far as inside the team and what's going on.Im just going by what I've seen from the stands.Coach may be a great guy.But hes not utilizing the speed he has .open it up with runs, screens, short passes ,then long.Mostly just up the middle plays or go straight long.Someone saud he has 6 plays.Thats a couple more than I thought.Plenty of talent the next 3 to 4 years.Shocker and 68 could coach and get them in the state title game or at least knocking on the door.

I’ve heard these types of things before. It can get frustrating.

I don't really know that yet. He is feeling big shoes and deserves his rightful chance here. He is a nice guy. I think maybe too nice. This team is in need of discipline and leadership and it's not there yet. His style of play calling is definitely not a fit to LC football with the talent he has available. Hopefully it will get better. He will have a chance to make a statement this coming week.

Yes I’ve listened to him on coaches corner a couple. You have to show tough love to your guys, many players will respect you even more because they know you want the best from them. I hope he re evaluates the style moving forward for you guys

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
