I think the blue and white MC Tigers win, :roflol:.  Seriously, Marshall County needs to clean the penalties up if the statements from other games hold true. They had a lot against Springfield earlier in the year and it sounds like they haven’t cleaned that up yet.

Its the most undisciplined Tiger team I have seen. Eight penalties for 80 yards in the first half last night. They got the ball inside the 3 on their opening drive and ended up with a 1st and goal around the 40! Unacceptable.  That falls on  the head coach no matter how you slice it. Its maddening to watch/ listen to.

Osteen needs to take them out and sit them for a half of game or something.

Or make a statement in practice. If I were Osteen I would use that charter bus money to hire some officials to officiate practice this week. Just my 2 pennies.

Springfield has big tractor tires that players have to flip up and down a hill beside our practice field that is behind our baseball field. That is used as discipline for such things as missing practice or being late among others. Osteen should make any player getting a stupid penalty run a gasser for each  yard of penalties they get, or something like that.

I agree. I had to run a couple of times until I puked and guess what happened after that...i stopped getting stupid penalties! My message in practice would be to clean up the penalties or dust off the high-tops. Cant put it more clearly than that.

I think this will be one of the best rd 1 games in the state!

I agree with you 100% on this one. Seeing that Marshall has been undisciplined. It will be you beat against disciplined teams like Macon. Macon has a bunch of seniors hungry to make a playoff run. I couldn’t be more excited for this years team.

This is the first meeting between the two teams. I was hoping this would be the matchup as I have been curious to watch Marshall. Macon County is coming off a huge victory in the pig pen at LA. Macon County is hungry for a playoff win. Marshall comes off a tough loss against the Knights of Nolensville. Will the Tiger of Macon claim a first round victory or will Marshall win on the ridge in the first meeting between the two? Thoughts?

Im pretty sure this is'nt the first meeting and i hope macon wins but they will have to have some luck. Defense is great. offense is to basic for a team thats got a decent defense. And macon has struggled playing a good team but maybe this will b the one that gets the them rolling.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
