Strongest Freshmen Class?

The topic of what Tennessee high school has the strongest freshmen class is being bantered around on another thread.  So who is the best freshmen wrestler going into this 2001-22 season and what school has the strongest freshmen class?  For instance have there been any nationally ranked freshmen move into Tennessee and if so what school was fortunate enough to land them?

Notable D2 Freshmen that I am aware of. I believe all 3 of these guys will be competing for a state title this year. Please fill me in on any I missed along with what D1 schools have added.

Father Ryan- Casen Roark

Baylor- Nate Askew, Jacob Bond

Hunter Sturgill will be a force.

Ethan Lampert - 2nd at MS state

Brody Gobbell- 2nd at MS state

Casen Roark - 1st at MS state

Sawyer Rutherford - 2nd at MS state

Chancery Deane - 1st at MS state

Those are five strong wrestlers!  Will Father Ryan be able to get all five in the starting lineup or will most of them have to be a backup this season?

Great question. Not sure but at MS state 

Lampert - 90

Gobbell - 110

Roark - 120

Rutherford - 126

Deane - 130

They were all pretty close in weight last year so I’d say I doubt they all get in the starting lineup. And who knows what they are all weighing now.

Another question to ask is how many of them will be "redshirting" this year and taking a 4th year in middle school.

If they are truly enrolled in a high school there is no way for them to "redshirt" as both their academic and athletic eligibility clock has already begun.

Correct, you cannot redshirt athletically in the 8th grade. You can be held back academically in the 8th grade and maintain eligibility.

Father Ryan does not have a middle school. They are one of the few DII schools in the entire state that do not have a middle school and possibly the only in Middle Tennessee since Pope Prep (Pope John Paul II) just added one.

Actually 38!  It took me several years to graduate and begin living my best life in the sunshine state.
