I am intrigued by the Central/Halls game and the Catholic/Powell games this week. This may be one of the best weeks of high school football in the past several weeks. There are some important region contests with playoff implications and some great non-region matchups. Coach Korey Mobbs is doing a fantastic job at Knox Catholic in his first year with a roster with no shortage of talent. Powell is looking fierce and preparing for a deep run in the 5A playoffs. Although this game has no impact on seeding, I hope to see both teams play their best players and not rest people for the playoffs. This is me speaking strictly as a high school football fan. Halls at Central is going to be an excellent region battle, as well. Great choice of games for the Pick'ems this week @Knoxemdown!

I would like to add that PrepXtra may need to put down whatever pipe they are smoking and take a better look at the Fulton/Farragut prediction. There is absolutely NO WAY, I mean NO WAY, that Fulton scores 41 points on Farragut. Although this may not be one of Farragut's better defenses in recent memory, they will not give up 41 to Fulton. I think that prediction should be more like Farragut 35-Fulton 21. Farragut has too much firepower in the passing game to get beat by Fulton. Let's be honest, Fulton only scored 20 against Anderson County, 21 against South-Doyle and 15 against Bearden. Farragut has a better defense than all three of those teams, IMO.

I don't see the score being that high either, but I think Farragut has an issue looking past Fulton to next week and struggles with them. I have to disagree with you on the strengths of defenses in your comment. I would take SD's and Bearden's defenses over Farragut. Farragut gave up 30 to Oak Ridge, Bearden gave up 7, Farragut gave up 27 to Cleveland in a loss, Bearden gave up 10 to them in a win. (last week)  Farragut's mind may not be on Fulton!

I also agree with the PrepXtra comment, they have something in their pipe and it's not tobacco.
