Prayers for the Edmondson family and the Mid-TN & Smyrna Volleyball families that will be supporting her through this... It's all so incredibly tragic!!!

Just a few weeks ago, Ambria McGregor, another local volleyball athlete from Mt. Juliet, lost her life after a car wreck. Both of these girls are the same age as my youngest. I can't imagine what these families are going through.

Early prediction time:

The state championship in AAA is Cleveland's to lose.  They have to many studs up front to deal with no matter how good your defense will be.

They will play either Brentwood or Nolensville in the finals.  Of course, both teams need to make it out of their District tournament which has never happened.  Two years ago Brentwood was eliminated in the District tournament and last year Nolensville was eliminated in the same tournament (and they were ranked in the top 10 nationally at the time).  Region 6. District 11 grueling, non-forgiving District and that's the way we like it.

Always a gauntlet!!! Your assessment sounds spot on. Nolensville will really have their nose to the grindstone this year after bowing out early last year, and the new coach at Brentwood will be looking to make a mark and return them back to the glory days.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
