I will also go back and check to see if I can see the roster. If you are responsible for the rosters you must be important. Good luck this season.

Hey Willie, don't forget that we need to figure out a way for Boone and Oak Ridge to meet in the playoffs in 5A.

I haven't forgot you friend. I would love to play you guys but I don't see it happening anytime soon. If Boone ever gets down to Chattanooga for the Title I will sit next to you and cheer my heart out for you all. I do think OR will win State this season and a couple more.

KEEP FOOTBALL AT FINLEY. Chattanooga is a great town for visit.

Agreed, SD rebuilding with a new coach, new to the high school scene. They are young!

SD may be rebuilding player-wise, but the new HC isn't "new to the high school scene." He was OC at Bearden High for several years prior to a stint in college football.

Oak Ridge by a lot. This SD team has a long, rough few years ahead of them. Once they are able to keep the talent in the school, they’ll start to be successful again.

I sure hope you are right. I am pretty confident OR will win but not sure if they can blow a team away yet. I would love for OR to win the toss of the coin and see who runs it back for a TD.

Cant wait to watch the new look Wildcats.I look for a good game and hope Oak Ridge can leave Knoxville 1-0.We have a great staff but our fans need to be patient as they build this thing back the right way.We are building depth we havent had since coach Blade.I really think that has been the missing piece to get this program over that last hump again. So enjoy the ride and support this team and staff because the payoff will be fun.Lets fill up the visitor side the next 2 weeks.RWR

Everything yall have said is that ur loaded with skill players.  You're talking like you'll have more skill players later.  My experience has always been that they are the ones that make the biggest difference. Point being, Shouldn't you be pretty good now if youre as loaded as you say?

I'm looking forward to this season as well, and I think it could be a great one. I agree that it sounds like we're building depth, especially since Cummings doesn't like to play people both ways...but I disagree with you on the Blade analogy. Blade preferred to have 40-45 players on the team and that doesn't lend itself to depth. We will win big tonight...mark it down!  RWR!!!!!!!

I think that we're loaded with skill players for sure...more than at any time since 2005. But linemen continue to be a problem against a good team...and South Doyle won't be a good team...they lost too much. I think this will be a beatdown and our skill players will overwhelm them. I do worry about our QB situation, as well as our OL.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
