I watched Temple get beat by McCallie Last night. Kyle White came off the bench and went 10 for 10 in shooting threes. He is a Senior. Temple did not play well but McCallie played great. When Coach Henry pulled his starters They had hit 16 of 19 3-point attempts. Every thing that Temple did seem to come up empty. Every thing that McCallie did was Rewarded with points. The game was only 16 at half. I can't wait for the rematch in January. If McCallie shoots that well They will be the next State Champion of Div. 2.

Temple will regroup and continue their quest for another state title. They are alot better than this game displayed. ;)

Stay tuned for an early-season showdown between this hot-shooting McCallie team and the Brentwood Academy Eagles, Friday night at 7:00 in the BA middle school gym. McCallie seems to have the upper hand the way they're shooting, because BA's players are still recovering from football and have only been together for a couple weeks. Still, BA's athleticism should make this a very good game.

Why does BA play in the middle school gym? Isn't there a gym that is bigger? Other than Dunlap, what football players play hoops? Is Dunlap going to play a significant amount?

They're playing in the MS gym this weekend due to the BA Art Show and sale going on in the Upper School. Big fundraiser. All but two of the BA hoopsters were playing football. Thay've now had a total of 6 practices. Dunlap starts, and played probably 18 minutes in the first game...about as much as anyone.

Honestly, I think this would be a major upset if BA were to beat McCallie Friday, especially this early in the season.

Hey Chill...Suddath had a quite night with 21. All around great effort by the Blue Tornado. The true star of the game was White comin of the bench with 10 thrifectas. The team is really playing well and if they keep it up they have a shot of adding to the trophy case. McCallie is pretty deep with several players coming of the becnch and putting forth a great effort and know how to win. Watch out as the senior led team makes a run for state.

Are you kidding? White was not consitent last year. He is a streaky shooter! Last year he didn't do much of anything. I don't know if McCallie can continue the great shooting percentage they have displayed thus far. A big test will be how well they handle BA's post play.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
