I think we got the spark back Friday with a great win against a decent Scott Co. I know Coach will havectgem working this week, coalfield fans lets rally behind these boys and staff and have it Rocking.  Loud and Proud….

This is more of what I was expecting last week.Scott will still have to prove they are a decent/Good team tho.

Had you asked me last week before we played Wartburg how I thought we would do against Coalfield, I would’ve absolutely said I expect a running clock. Now after last week and seeing how we just simply dominated Wartburg, I’m honestly not sure what to make of this game on Friday. I’m not expecting a win as Coalfield is always a handful, and playing up there adds to the task. Come Friday though I wouldn’t be shocked if we pull off a win, but instead of thinking it will be a blowout like I previously thought, I’m thinking coalfield takes it by 1 or 2 scores. If the Big Blue can somehow pull it off, it would be a huge win to start region play.

Dont you all usually play them tough?I do thin CF has it going now gonna be tough for any of us region foes to pull off a win.

For the most part we usually do. We’ve had a couple wins where we handled them, and they’ve definitely had their fair share of take us out back. I think overall it’s usually a good game though.

The verdict is still up in the air on Cf for me.  Harriman shall be a stern test as they seem to always play us tough.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
