Well, that's one way to stick it to the Knoxville schools.

You're gonna put 9 schools in one region while the neighboring regions have 7&6?

that ain't right.

Yeah, that makes no sense at all.  Especially when you put Campbell County in Region 1 with the tri cities and more eastern schools.  It's just a hard drive getting from Jacksboro to Upper East Tennessee.

But I have yet to understand most of what the TSSAA does when it comes to classification and region/district placement.

Questions that need to be answered:

Does Rhea County and/or McMinn County play with Knoxville or Chattanooga?

Does Tullahoma and/or Franklin County go with Region 4 (Chattanooga) or Region 5? This balances Regions 1-4 and 5-8.

Does Henry County go to Memphis or with more traditional foes?

Rhea and McMinn will stay down in the Chattanooga area. Now Franklin Co I could see them in the Chattanooga area if they wanted to. It wouldn’t really be any different then when White Co was in the region with Rhea

22 on the east side and 27 on the west side. Doesn't really sound fair...., which probably means the TSSAA will do it.

Not sure why people on here are still speculating.  This link is the official numbers through 2025. the board voted on Monday "no change".

No change to the number of classifications. Who is in each classification has changed because off  new cut-off numbers and schools changing size. There will be new regions shake-ups

No change means they're not changing the 6 classifications to go to 7 classifications or back down 5 classifications. They are still reclassifying and changing the regions thusly.
