Tied at 0-0 last play in the game….HVA QB terribly under throws a wide open receiver luckily enough a strong wind gust miraculously comes out of the blue and guides the ball into the hands of the HVA receiver at the WB 10 he runs free to the 1 trips and falls on his own into the end zone for a touchdown. They miss the xpt, 6-0 final score.

After watching HVA last night knowing they would be the whipping boy to make up for that Cleveland loss thier team looked good against our JV so HVA by 3 or 4 TD's. WB is in a total freefall due to past bad decisions that have finally came to a head. The Eagleton situation did hurt WB more than most realize because Samuel Everett committed it's kids to WB before and now to the Royals. With the feeder system just now getting started up again will the WB fans and players hold on for a couple years of the roughest ride they've ever been on, I seriously doubt it. Now that Robert realizes just what he has stepped into can he handle being the scapegoat for all the bad decisions he had nothing to do with. Just a hopeless situation.

Totally agree Barny. Hardin Valley will feel like they were meant to play the game after their big win. My one word to describe the William Blount program is LANGUISH.

Good summary of the WB situation. Always had problems with talent leaving for greener pastures. QB and best receiver from a team already with limited talent (one win last year ) both transferred this season. That problem is compounded by the Eagleton/SESI situation (led by former WB coaches) which is syphoning off talent that would have traditionally gone to WB. Then you haven't had a solid feeder system for several years to grow talent. Add in bad facilities on top of the other problems. Pay teachers and have coaching supplements lower than neighboring districts. Now you have a job that few coaches would be willing to step into so getting/retaining quality coaches becomes a challenge. If you wanted to created a model for how to destroy a HS football program look no further than what the administration at BCS and WB have done.

Sounds crazy but all this talk makes it seem WB could just shut it down. I would petition the TSSAA to play non region for a couple of years the way White County did. Not all could be scheduled and it might be more travel than this but they should be more competitive against a schedule of something like-Sequoyah, Scott, Volunteer, Cumberland, Union County, Claiborne, Northview, Wartburg, and Cumberland Gap. Leave rivalry game Heritage on it.

Everybody keeps saying the "eagleton/SESI situation" but can anybody actually identify these kids? If the previous coach was so bad why would all these nameless kids have followed him?

Eagleton from what I hear has around 50 players. Those kids would have gone to WB or Heritage before Eagleton added football. Even it was a 50/50 split having 25 less kids hurts. SESI is a whole other issue.
