Can you ever remember a year where we had 4 teams as good as McKenzie, Fayetteville, MASE, and Peabody?

Plus the next level teams like Dresden Lake Co South Pitt and Moore. I can't remember 1A being this stacked

The 1990s, 2007-2011, The 1970s and 1980s.

And that's a fair point but of the top teams how many had as much legit D-1 talent as this current group?

In the 80s I say yes along with probably a few more years throughout time. The top this year is great dont get me wrong but there used to not be private and public or near as many classifications.

South Pittsburg:  1977- Bo Haden went to Louisville,  1978- Tim Moore went to Vandy  1998- Eddie Moore went to Tennessee  1999 Merriamen (spelling and year maybe off) went to Naval Academy at Annapolis

1986 Title game, SP - Spring Hill, Spring Hill had Orlando Wade that went to either Ole Miss or Mississippi State

FCS had 2 or 3 in the mid to late 1990s

That is just some quick ones off the top of my head.

If overall talent is the question. I’d either say 2019. Greenback with the 2 power five kids plus the QB that did sign with Louisville. Huntingdon had their QB sign for UT (for baseball but still is a heck of an athlete). The lake county team that won it all was stacked. Fayetteville was 10-0 but had to forfeit win but had a ton of talent on the team. South Pitt had Gio Davis I believe and he had multiple power 5 offers.

2018 can be in debate with it also from just a talent wise in 1A

(This might be recency bias haha)
