Dobyns-Bennett at The team from Johnson City

Kingsport. Johnson City. That's all that really needs to be said here. 

Region title on the line and the chance to host two playoff games goes to the winner. 

WCYB upped the ante by making this the Friday Night Rivals game next week, so that may actually keep the crowd down somewhat if the weather was like it was last year for this game. 

My early prognosis is this. If we play next week like we did tonight, the Toppers will beat us by four TD's. Got to play with some passion and energy next week cause we sure didn't tonight.

Science Hill will have the speed advantage. Neither team is extremely physical. DB may have a slight advantage in size. Neither team throws it great, but Science Hill is a little better in the secondary. Science Hill goes into a wildcat package with the little WR at QB. He can fly.

 

I don’t think it will matter who wins. Region 1 teams will not beat any of Region 2. Maryville, Farragut, Beardan and Bradley Central will run the table

You may be right sadly... I'd still like to get the dub next week and say that we at least beat the Hill for once.  I think we're the better team on paper, but rarely does it seem as if the best team on paper wins this game.

I like Science Hill in this one. Somehow Science Hill has out coached us every game in recent years even when we have a team like we did in 2019 where we should have won by 20+ points. Instead Science Hill beat us 21 to 3 a mere 2 years later despite again not being 18 points better than DB.

All they care about in Johnson City is beating DB. They could go 1-9 on the season and if that 1 win was against DB the coaching staff would get a bonus. They take their open date every year the week before the DB game so their entire coaching staff can scout, plus they have two weeks to practice. Thats how serious this game is to them.  Before their last coaching hire, they made the statement that they were looking for a coach that could beat DB. No mention about a coach that could win a state championship. They got their man.

Steve Spurrier may haunt the Indians again, I bet he knows this is the week and probably keeps track of it from Florida. I thought DBs offense is kind of vanilla, if Oak Ridge had not had killer turnovers and penalties at the wrong times, they would have beat DB, I don't know anything about Science Hill except they were pretty well handled by Powell and AC. They get up for the Indians though and it's at their place.  DB pulls this one out, but they need an early lead and not let it get into a big play game.
