FargoStrut
36, I haven't seen Gallatin play in the past 2 seasons but I watched a game of y'alls in 2018, 2 games in 2019 and 1 in 2020. Just by looking at the kids on the team, I think about 90-95% of coaches in the state would love to be able to coach the physical talent that I saw on the sideline and on the field. I personally have ZERO knowledge of the situation at Gallatin, but I honestly believe just an average football coach who could relate to his players while also instilling some discipline, accountability and showing "tough love" would be 2nd/3rd round playoff successful there on a yearly basis. And I believe a very good football coach who did previously mentioned things could easily have that talent in 3rd or 4th round of playoffs in a few short years. Just my honest thoughts on what I saw when I last saw them play.

The players given does not match the record. Doesn't match the @$$# whippings. I see we have another softie in here that doesn't like the truth. Players given? The only soft thing here is your ability to recognize real football talent! There's no doubt that this season's team left some games on the field, but as to the actual 6-A talent, Gallatin is lacking in the trenches where games are won and lost. Perhaps one of Gallatin's line on either side of the ball would be able to crack the two deep at Beech or Oakland! Not a single one of those same young players will play a down of college football above perhaps the NAIA level. On top of that, they were soft, and much weaker than the best team's they faced, other than Mt. Juliet, who they managed to beat in week one. If that game were played again in week 11, Gallatin get's boat raced. Yeah, I'll put my record of work in both college and the NFL evaluating talent against yours anytime you want to go for it! Not disagreeing with most of that, however I would say player develop (technique, not being “soft”, etc.) falls on the staff. Beech doesn’t have a huge line by any means, however they have a great offensive line coach and a great workout program. They are taught a system at both Beech and Oakland. They become better football players over four years. They develop camaraderie in the programs. That isn’t talent. That’s coaching and culture. I would argue that Gallatin hasn’t had any of that in a number of years. 1
