McKenzie @ Houston Co

How will the 7 day lay off affect either team?  This one on both the boys and girls side is for 1st in district as we go down the stretch.

Looking at the schedule I just don’t see the resume honestly. They beat East Hickman by 27 or so them lost to them. No disrespect to East Hickman but winning by 27 then losing. McKenzie has had some nice wins beating GC and Huntingdon just off the top of my head. Just don’t see Houston County challenging y’all. Only way I could see y’all having trouble maybe playing a team that is dominant inside and can handle ball pressure and shoot a little. Think that won’t happen until maybe state and maybe not then. Loretto with Kinsey Weathers kinda exposed y’all in 2021 in substate. I got y’all or Wayne County winning it all. Leaning McKenzie because of how y’all created TO’s against them last year.

Kinsey Weathers.  Hurts her knee two minutes into the game.  Sits over on the bench with a ice bag on it the entire first half.  Comes out in the second and dominates!  If my memory serves, in that game, we only had 3 people score.

Houston co either hit everything they shot or McKenzie had to have had a player or two get hurt???

Houston Co shot the lights out! They played nearly a perfect second half.  Outscored us 25 to 8 in the third.  It was tied 32 32 at the half.  Stinson was on fire.  McKenzie played the worst game I have seen them play in three years. Houston County just straight whipped us tonight!  Congrats to them.  Probably gonna come down to a coin flip for first second.

Sometimes you run into nights like that where nothing seems to go right for you and everything is falling for the opponent. I would take McKenzie in 9 out of 10 matchups with Houston Co. Y’all will bounce back and keep rolling!

I also found out due to the ice, we only practiced Thursday. That may have ahd something to do with our play as well.

Houston Co has a very good ball team everybody back from last year. Mck. had beaten them 5 in a row going back to last year and a few of those were close games. I think in one of those  games last year the 2 teams set a state record for made threes in a game. It was just a matter of time before they knocked off McK. One of these 2 teams will win that Region and go to state and the other's season will end @ Wayne Co. Last night Houston County looked to be the more focused and determined team. Anyone know where this Region Tournament will be played?

District and region at Bethel.

Was watching and thought something seemed off about McKenzie overall… was shocked at that score.
