We need to start doing a lot better at getting them then, because we’ve sucked as of late. Either that, or we need to hire a new recruiting coordinator. Hopefully we can hire a really good one under Rang, and get this ball rolling. I’m pumped.

You wouldn't have had much of a signing day celebration without em.

That’s true. They were some of the few we’ve gotten in recent memory. They obviously didn’t help too much, as you see. We need some linemen, though, we’ve always had plenty of athletes here. Know any good recruiting coordinators who can bring in some linemen for us? Long overdue.

The Knox County school board rules make recruiting inevitable. According to Austin Price, a kid from any middle school can attend any HS they want as long as they declare that in middle school. Austin agrees with you, he said "they all are doing what Powell succeeded at the last several years".

AP isn't exactly accurate on that, if that's what he said.

One has to request a transfer, not just "declare" what school they want to get an out of zone transfer to and it has to be approved by Knox County.  But there are several legit transfers, including a minority to majority transfer, which was initiated by Knox County to satisfy the Office of Civil Rights some time back to prevent bussing similar to what Hamilton County does.

And there are other legit reasons for transfer approval for all students, including, but not limited to the magnet programs that some schools offer.

And that's Knox County.

The TSSAA deems students eligible as long as they start their freshman year at a particular high school, no matter where they live and if they comply with the living with parent/legal guardian provision.

So there are really two different levels here - County, and TSSAA.

Judging by resumes, JJ is the best around.
