Oakland?  :)    Its BC vs Stewarts Creek and Blackman vs Cleveland.    I don't think that the SC vs BC score will be very close.   Probably around 20 pts @ BC.

Blackman could face a tougher matchup with Cleveland.  But I would say it will be Blackman by 10-15.

Your Right I knew it was Stewarts creek as I was at that Game

Seems like the only convo’s going on these days are bashing other teams. Makes me not want to post.  Looking forward to the BC vs SC game and really the others.  That’s what this should be about.  BASKETBALL

There is always gonna be somebody talking trash... basketball, football, baseball....always....

Cleveland is Jekyll and Hyde.  Their good is really good and their bad will not be capable of keeping it close.  It will depend on which team travels to Blackman.

I do know Blackman has been very consistent and plays very fast and aggressive. They can be sloppy.... at times depending on what type of pressure they see outside. Looking fwd to a good girls game  this weekend followed by a super tough boys game on Monday

I expect the Blackman girls to pull away from Cleveland late. Cleveland has played close with Bearden twice and had two semi-close games against Bradley. They also had a 4 point win against a bad McMinn team in a game that they honestly should have lost. The game against Coffee was probably the best game they played all season and then they followed it up with a dud against Bradley. Road sectional games are probably the most difficult games to win, so we’ll have our hands full. I know the girls will leave it all on the court, so you cant ask for much more than that. Very proud of this team and staff.

I don't know much about Stewarts Creek, but beating Bradley at their place will take some doing,

You gave a good description of Cleveland's team. If they're on and get good support from the bench they'll make it a game with Blackman.

I don't expect any gimme's at this point. Raider team showed they can play with anyone....when they put Coffee Co away. Blaze can't have the turnovers and have to crash the boards and their shooting has to be spot on .  I expect a good one. Would love to see and meet any of the coach t fans that should happen to come out

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
