And maryville, because if you know how Alcoa was made they contributed a lot.

This is just plain dumb. Alcoa Aluminum Company was developed and built in Blount County almost 100 years ago.  How that has anything to do with the recent surge in population is irrelevant.

What's Alcoa's numbers and the cutoff between 3A and 4A ???:popcorneater:please tell us. Ha.

Well I know this, there are 16-17 schools bigger than Alcoa in 3A and my favorite school in 4A has 955 students . Almost 300 hundred more than Alcoa. You get a lot done with those numbers. Impressive!

Um, actually, the city of Alcoa was segregated from Maryville when the Alcoa plant was built because the plant brought in minority workers, and Maryville didn’t like that, therefore creating the city of Alcoa.^_^

You are entitled to your opinion or take on history, but it is still irrelevant to recent surge in population in the City of Alcoa.

I mean, recent searches are obvious: Amazon and Smith + Western I was just telling you why Alcoa was made in the first place in case you weren’t aware, and now if you ever get that question on trivia, you now have the answer, so you’re welcome.

He doesn’t understand you were saying that there would be no need for Alcoa if Murvul people way back when,  weren’t so snobby in thinking they were superior to the blue collar workers they were bringing in. Then they segregated the minorities and others away from Maryville you are spot on Elias there would be no Alcoa if not for the “rebels” of Maryville.

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
