Lebanon vs Upperman

I guess being an MJ fan and having our way with them the over past decade… it’s hard to admit that lol

Pretty much everyone had their way with Lebanon prior to Gentry. I see them much like Cookeville was under Maynord, they're never going to be overflowing with talent, but most years they'll have enough to win 7-8 games and occasionally have a good class or 2 that makes them a threat to make a deep run (although maybe hard to do with being next door to RuCo region)

Quite honestly It’s bad luck to be next door to ruco, it makes the region prize that much more important, knowing the inevitable fate of Oakland. Although the next few years I think MJ could handle the lesser Ruco teams.

Gonna be a little but harder this year bc I think Riverdale will be REALLY good. I do agree MJ can handle the rest though

Who knows,  but that would be a heck of a rebuild for a team that hasn’t made much noise in the last decade other than the previous 2 seasons. They lost a significant portion of their offense and defense from last season, and last week that showed letting Antioch get up on them by halftime..

Seems I was into something here.

Upperman was 1A when it opened.  They're now 4A and not a dime has been spent on football facilities. Like UCM said, they found 100's of thousands for Cookeville last year, but nothing for Upperman.

That county invest in the losing program of Cookeville, instead of the winning programs of Montery and Upperman

I know nothing about Upperman's situation and the area, but I would seek donations from businesses, put their name on a building if you have to. That fails take out a loan. So many of these programs have improved their facilities by securing funds on their own instead of hoping for money that will never come from their school board

Maybe Upperman is an example of how money and facilities are not essential factors in developing a competitive program. If you are recruiting, they matter (in college), but I would suggest the head coach at Upperman is a major reason the team is consistently winning. Why go chase the money and bigger facilities or get upset if someone else has more buildings and turf?
