Macon has a lot of work to do.

passing needs a lot of work and until it’s fixed every team is going to stack the box and stop the run. This game hurt to even watch. A good defense coach will make it rough on Macon if the play calling and passing don’t get better. A win is a win but it was ugly.

Which SEC team did you call plays

Didn't the legend (#15) live in the Union Hill/Hermitage Springs area and play for Macon County High School???  And let's not forget where the Borders came from either.  A lot of MoTown people would love to see those 2 in Red.  If I'm from Macon County, I probably wouldn't complain too much about any open enrollment issues!  I'd be more concerned about calling a TO before the ball gets snapped this week.

The Borders twins live in Macon County and like every one else on the west side of the county, they are zoned to Lafayette.

How will Smith County compete with all the advantages open enrollment Macon County has with the big city of Lafayette to draw from and a more than 300 person enrollment advantage?

In all seriousness, Macon gets a close win by 6. Speed on the Macon side in this one.

Was pretty close, didn't see score being so low though

Amazing how people don’t understand Geography. Westmoreland is in Sumner County and kids that live in Macon don’t go to any Westmoreland schools across the county line. If they went to Westmoreland then about 200-250 other kids from that area would also. Westmoreland would move up to at least 3A in that circumstance.

    • Tough situation.  Not sure the ROI is there right now.   Might be better options that are cheaper.
    • Yeah summer ball is really fun, but a lot of coaches are trying to play several kids to get much needed reps that they are not accustomed to. I would imagine Gibson County will have lots of players playing to get much needed reps. Want to win games but got to get experience as well and the rotation will be much deeper. I will be at MTSU, UTM Bethel and others. MTSU is the one I really look forward to.
    • So who are the new additions to the staff? Serious answers only please.
    • Its always interested to see the state teams the following summer after losing or not losing seniors and getting freshman and transfers. It's almost time.
    • Maryville has Alcoa on the schedule at the right time of the season which helped last year instead of at the first of the year not knowing much. West will be hard pressed to repeat this year but next will be a different story.
