We pulled out a great win. Props to MJHS. 64 is an absolute dog and they should have handed him the ball all 4 times in overtime. Greatly coached team.

By the way give some credit to Lake Forest for the win. Also MJHS Sevierville loss Maryville was down 26 kids and over half of those 26 were starters. Maryville let up 14 points all year and let up 14 more Thursday night

Let me add that Maryville starters had allowed 0 points all year. Lake Forest is also Bradley Central feeder school by the way.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Maryville is still "good" like a lot of other teams.  Maryville no longer carries around a mystique that makes people afraid of them/worship them.  That era is long gone and not coming back.  

Bradley Central, Knoxville West, Alcoa, Greeneville, Elizabethton, and others are just as good as Maryville these days.

They are not Oakland beating the brakes off of all of the other Rutherford County teams (seemingly invincible).  

If Maryville advances beyond the 2nd/3rd Round of the playoffs it is now considered a great year.  There's no shame in that either.  

Let the backlash begin.....

The two best running backs in this group are 7th graders.

One is out for season with injury. The other decided to play rec league again this year. The one in rec league is going to be as good as any that have come through here.

They'll be ok.
