I’m not saying I have an opinion one way or another. Hamilton County rezoning allowing kids opportunity to go outside their area has probably not helped. The “affluent” population in Ooltewah may have been going to private’s anyway but this has probably increased an exodus. Our society segregated itself in a lot of ways. Economic status and race are unfortunately some of those

I won’t say names but there are many god football players that were zoned for ohs but didn’t go there. In all honesty I don’t blame them. In all honesty Ooltewah is a crap show of a football program right now. Since the pool stick incident they haven’t been the same in all their sports. I will be at the Rhea county and Ooltewah game I will be doing some scouting and feedback of some of the coaching and etc.

I’m sure there are ALOT of good kids zoned for OHS that aren’t going there. And let’s face it there are a lot of well off people money wise in Ooltewah. They can afford to send their kids to private schools (without scholarships) and that is every bit their right to do so. But yea u are right the basketball incident was very unfortunate and doesn’t reflect what 99% of the kids are about

Y’all are acting like east Hamilton just came into the picture. Ooltewah has had good teams since EH. Its coaching, prior to the current coaching staff, the coach that came from North Carolina was successful. Ooltewah has talent. If you’ve been to ooltewah game, the players sometimes don’t show effort and are just not in the right spots with busted plays. That’s 100 percent coaching

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
