Halls @ West

I now have a lot more respect for that Halls team.  They came to win and had West on their heels at times tonight.  I commented to some friends before the game when I saw the officials tonight that the flags were going to fly.  I’m not sure how Hall’s coach managed to not get ejected for a few of the calls that really hurt them tonight (especially the muffed punt that would have given Halls the ball deep in West territory).

I’ll take the “W” and hope we clean things up before next Thursday.  Halls will surprise some teams in the playoffs,  they just have a tough Region.

West defense has been very good after halftime these last 3 games...not allowing a single point in the second half.

Offense needs to finish off drives as they left points out there on the fumble strip as well as getting a crucial penalty that made it difficult to get the yards needed for a first down in Halls territory (turned it over on downs). If they can clean this up and special teams do what they did last night - should be a deep run in the playoffs.

Kudos to Halls players and stafff on a heckuva turnaround from last year to this year. Do not count them out from beating Mo West in the first round of playoffs.

I know his team lost last night, but Brent Hughes deserves serious consideration as the Coach of the Year in the Knoxville area.  He's done a fabulous job with that program coming into a year where there was considerable adversity to deal with from the get-go.

Region 1 isn't going to like seeing this Halls team showing up on their doorstep in the playoffs region 2 has 3 good teams

Region 2 isn't going to like seeing any region 2 teams.  I can legitimately see a region 2 sweep in the first round.

Halls has to beat central first to go to mo west. Winner of that game gets them and loser goes to sevier county. I think either way region 2 can sweep region 1.

I don't know about a sweep central is terrible not sure if they can beat Sevier county or mo West

If Johnson is healthy, Central can shorten the game and beat either.

Besides, I wasn't really impressed with either one of those teams when they played a couple of weeks ago.

    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
