Greeneville at Elizabethton

Either way it goes it's always a good game when Greeneville, Betsy or AC get together. This should be a fun game to watch. Betsy has built on what they had last year and don't forget what Greeneville showed against Alcoa; IMO, the short fist half, they edged out Alcoa. Betsy has the edge in the pass IMO as I don't think, I may be wrong, but I am not so sure Greeneville will be able to completely match the front line of Betsy. However when these two get together don't bet the farm either way.

Hope its on stream or something. Should be best game of the week?

Betsy RAN the ball very well against the Tribe and is a running team that can throw it. Also known as a BALANCED football team. But that Defensive unit is really something. Two deep at every position. Stuffing the run, on their way to the QB with linebackers filling the gaps and protecting the flats and middle against screens. They really only have to use the front 4 to get pressure. I’m guessing Greeneville and AC will try to ground and pound the ball and dominate the time of possession to keep the Betsy O off the field and wear down the D. Like Betsy did to Greeneville back in 2021. But, with all the high quality subs on D Betsy has, that will be a difficult task. The chess game inside the game is what I like the most. Who can scheme and game plan the best? And yes. I do my homework. LOL

I guess with weather related issues then a weak overall schedule, one could (me) ask have Betsy or Greeneville really been tested. That was always the issue people brought up against the Mavs Chattanooga conference. However as we know the Mavs pretty much held there own and had QB Martin not got injured I would say the Mavs have at least 2 state championships. Sometimes you can't always go fully with the tested benchmark, but it's certainly always a question.

most greeneville fans have saw whats going on with this team -- you cant play and win with one or two superstars or at least in their daddys eyes ..... greeneville has the fire power to play against anyone but its run right or run left you cant control the ground game without passing the ball , then you need the Right qb to be throwing the ball .... in this day you have to win the BIG GAME for people to notice you and that comes from playing EVERYONE and being a game manager not being outcoached ..................... filter has been turned off.............

This is 100% spot on I couldn't agree more ive been aggravated all season about our QB situation a blind man can see who our QB should be but for some reason we've not made that change... As bad as I hate to say it we are in trouble against a well coached team like Betsy cause our QB panics and can't throw the ball.. You said No Filter so there it is

I’d say our best teams were Science Hill, DB-Kingsport, Mo West and NorthView. The rest were just weak regional games. Biggest test will be this Friday.

Well qb1 is a joke, everyone with eyes can see it. He’s a great 7v7 qb, but just like his middle school days out pressure on him and he’s lost.  He gave DB 7 with a pass interception that he threw to the sidelines with 3 defenders around 1 receiver? Alcoa he hit the middle linebacker dead in the chest from his own end zone to the 2/3 yard line for a score.  I’m not sure who told him he’s a superstar other than his Daddy but darn. You can’t win this late in the season doing the same mistakes over and over. Eddie is going to have to figure out how to win a big game soon.  One win at Besty a couple of years ago now and turned around to get beat in the playoffs.  People are going to start asking what’s wrong in Greeneville?? How did this happen??? I don’t see the Gmen’s season ending well this year unfortunately.

All you so called Greeneville fans need to get a grip.  You are being a bunch of arm chair coaches. QB2's  dad is the QB Coach so I say he probably has an input on who the QB is.  If QB1 struggles i'm sure QB2 will step in and see what he has against Betsy or in the playoffs.

we have had a grip for the last 50 years been to hundreds of games, but if you are a regular attendee of devil football then you have seen the struggles of qb1 he constantly overthrows wide open receivers helped Alcoa get back in the ballgame and the int at DB helped them out as well ..... proofs in the puddin..........

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
